Our Approach
Q: What makes Goldfish Counselling different?
A: We take a neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach, recognising that every child, teen, and adult does well when they can. Our counselling supports are practical, flexible, and focused on building long-term wellbeing.

Who We Support
Q: Do you work with children and adults?
A: Yes! We provide early childhood counselling (0–6 years), children’s counselling (7+), teen and adult counselling, and parent/family support.
Q: Do you support those who are just starting their neurodiversity journey?
A: Absolutely. We can help parents and individuals make sense of assessments, learn new strategies, and feel more confident navigating next steps.

Funding & Payments
Q: Are your services covered under a GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)?
A: No. Counsellors are not eligible for Medicare rebates under a GP Mental Health Care Plan (these apply only to psychologists, mental health social workers, and occupational therapists). However, many families find that our fees are similar to — or even lower than — the gap payment they would pay for psychology under a MHCP.
Q: Do I need a referral to see you?
A: No referral is needed. You can contact us directly and book a free 15-minute intro session to see if we’re the right fit.

Q: Do you offer Telehealth?
A: Yes, all of our services are available via secure Telehealth. We also offer in-person sessions at our Bacchus Marsh therapy space.
Q: Do you offer a free intro session?
